SMTP-(Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)- This is just the sending of a message from one user to the next. But yet goes through some steps for example if I want to send a message to professor Jain, first I will have to type the message, then send, the message than goes to my mail server, and placed into a message queue. Than the client side of SMTP opens a TCP (Transmission Control Protocol ) connection to professor Jain's  server. Than the SMTP sends my message across the connection. Than professor Jain can now read my message.
